Extra Curricular Activities

Hoddles Creek has an extensive range of extra-curricular activities available to its students.  These are organised and run by dedicated staff and volunteers to allow students the best possible experiences during their schooling.

Chickens:
All students at Hoddles Creek have the opportunity to be involved in the caring for our school chickens; feeding them and collecting the eggs daily.  Our chickens are a wonderful addition to our school and really enhance the country atmosphere.
 


Grades 3-6 Camp:

All students in grades 3-6 head off for a three-day camp every second year.  Last year, they went to ... This is a great time to develop new friendships and build each other up.

Variety Concert:

When we don't have a school camp, we work hard to produce a whole-school variety concert.
 
 
Bike Education:

This is for students in grades 3-6 and ...

Grades 3-6 Clubs:

Once a week the students in grades 3-6 form small groups according to interests such as gardening, scrap booking, clay and cooking and spend the afternoon with a teacher or volunteer learning new skills...
 
 
The Buddy System:

Every student in Prep and
grade one has a big buddy in years 5 or 6.  Carried over two years, the buddies meet together weekly to build relationships and trust.

Tournament of the Minds:

Each year a group of student participates in the Tournament of the Minds...
 
 
Epilepsy Trivia Challenge:

A great cause.  Our students complete the challenge...

Music Tuition & Choir:

Music Tuition is available in guitar, keyboard and recorder.  Students in grades 3-6 are also able to join the recorder group and the school choir, which performs at the local kindergartens and has participated in the Nongoma Concert at Dallas Brooks Hall this year.
 
 
Sport & Recreation:

As part of, and in addition to a comprehensive Health and Physical Education Program, students at Hoddles Creek are given the opportunity to participate in a range of sporting and recreational activities such as Hoop Time, Cross Country, Archery, Skiing, Table Tennis and Equestrian Programs.
