Facilities
The school's main administration building houses the staff room, administration office, Principal's office, sick bay, staff toilets and the Canteen.
The spacious classrooms for our Grades 3-6 classes have adjacent workrooms and resource areas. We have a Music Room, Computer Lab, Art Room and Staff Resource Room. A brand new portable houses the junior classroom and our Library. There is also a large multi-purpose room used for assemblies and performances.
The school has a variety of play areas including two brand-new playgrounds, a large oval with football goals and a cricket pitch, a basketball / netball court and sealed asphalt areas. There is a large gazebo with seating for use by all students, which is a great area for outdoor lessons.
In addition Hoddles Creek PS is home to our school chooks that are well looked after by our students, and a vegetable garden. We also have Maryanne, our goat who helps us keep some of our grounds weed free. We haveinstalled extra water tanks to help provide garden water and a new solar hot water service.
A community partnership with the Friends of Hoddles Creek has resulted in the development of a native plant area with plans to create an outdoor classroom. We also have a small area of bushland at the rear of the oval which contains many local plant species as well as providing shelter to a number of bird species, wombats, kangaroos and echidnas. Our school gardens have won schools garden awards.
