Music
Music Program
The Music Program is a vibrant and highly valued part
of community life at Hoddles Creek. Supporting our Literacy
and Numeracy Program with a strong emphasis on creative
music-making and movement, the Music curriculum consists of
Prep - 6 Classroom Music (one hour class per week) and Grade
3 Recorder Class. Students are encouraged to perform for
their peers in class and for the wider school community at
assemblies and special events.
Choir
Keen singers can join the Hoddles Creek PS Choir, which
regularly performs at school and local community events,
as well as collaborative concerts with other schools and
professional musicians. Recent performances include
Once Upon a Time (Eastern Metropolitan Region
Youth Concert 2006) and Nongoma: Mother of Song
(The Boite, 2007).
Special Events
Whole School Productions take place every 2 years.
Other recent special events include:
- the Hoddles Creek Idol 2006 - the search for the ultimate School Song in which students competed in teams of 2 or more (DVD Available)
- the Hoddles Creek Variety Show 2007- an extravaganza of singing, dancing and high drama from solo to whole class acts

available on site during class time
