Leadership and Responsibilities:

Our Grade  5/6 students have many opportunities to take on a number of leadership roles in the school such as School Captains, Vice School Captains, House Captains and Junior School Council.  The JSC are responsible helping to look after our school chooks  for find ing ways to make our school a better place.  House Captains are responsible for supporting their house group at sporting events and organising the bins at lunch time.  Our School Captains and Vice School captainsare responsible for thanking any visitors, writing letters of thanks, running assemblies when other students are away, doing various jobs and supporting all students at the school.

The year 5/6s have the opportunity to talk on the local radio (Yarra Valley FM) every 6 weeks.  The students enjoy introducing songs and telling everyone about the great things we do at Hoddles Creek.

Buddies:

The year 5/6s are paired with a P/1/2 student, becoming their ‘Buddy’.  Their role is to generally make sure their buddy is OK, has someone to play with and has someone they can go to for help if needed.  We have a buddy session every week for half an hour and read stories, colour-in, play games and do craft activities.
