Curriculum Areas:
We enjoy learning in many different areas of the curriculum, including literacy and numeracy, which focus on the Early Years Program, art, physical education (including the PMP program) and integrated studies. We have specialist teachers who come in and help us with Library, Computers, Music and German, as well as a new Values program which we started this year with Mrs Woolley, the grade 5/6 and Computers teacher.
Transition Program:
In term three we will meet the new Preps for next year as they begin a series of transition sessions with our class. During these times we play games, complete art and craft activities, and explore the school together. These sessions gradually increase in length and frequency until a whole day program is offered during term four. This is a very exciting part of our classroom and we look forward to it.
Buddies:
Each student in Prep/1/2 has a buddy in years 5 & 6. We get together for half an hour each week to complete activities together, read and play games. Having a big buddy means we always have someone we can look out for if we are hurt, upset or unsure about something. Big buddies make sure we are looked after, have someone to play with, and help us if we are in trouble. Thank you, big buddies!
